I ordered a handmade iron log holder on 28 August via a company based in Newry, Northern Ireland, I'm in England. At the time, there was no indication of their turnaround time on the site, so I left it a few weeks and then emailed on 14 September, just asking how long it would be. He said he'd get back to me, but then I had to follow up on the 23rd as I hadn't heard from him. I was then told it would be the following week - nothing. On the 30th I asked if he'd sent it and he sent me an email saying "am sorry to say we still have your item. Please forgive me and allow me one more chance to send your order on Wed 6 Oct" Since it's supposed to be 24 hour delivery and I've received no tracking details, I'm guessing it's still not sent.
It's not coming, is it? Husband thinks his email the other day sounds like I'm pressurising him and I need to back off for a week. Thing is, on the website when I looked today, he's saying orders will be dispatched within 2 weeks, so now I'm wondering if he's stringing me along regardless.
I took a look at the chargeback route via my credit card. I need to give him a deadline, it seems. So should I write today/tomorrow saying he has a week to deliver or refund me? The advice doesn't seem to indicate what's a reasonable time.
All I wanted was a bloody log holder for my fireplace!!
