...pretty please. Am IVF-ing again, busy at work and life in general. Want something to watch to unwind on an evening- easy going/relatively light hearted/little brain engagement required please.

I like:

Call the midwife
Downton
Gilmore girls

I do realise these are all quite vacuous, but frankly that is what I'm looking for. I have no brain space by the end of the day to watch anything challenging.

Absolute cheese on Netflix - Heartland, Chesapeake Shores, Virgin River, Northern Rescue
Currently re-watching Golden Girls on Disneyplus

Million Dollar Listing LA

I’d second Heartlands as a cheesy Netflix watch if you liked things like Gilmore Girls.

Graphista · 07/10/2021 03:49

Another vote for golden girls

My main ones though are Friends and Charmed. Friends on netflix, charmed I bought for streaming whenever I wish when it stopped being on the streaming services as I knew I'd watch it over and over!

Bones is good too, police procedural but not too demanding with lovely characters and some romance too

Gilmore girls is a constant favourite and eventually I followed "mn advice" to try Mrs maisel too and those that recommended were right

I'm completely bummed that white collar is no longer available anywhere!

Timeless on Netflix is fairly fluffy and fun. Time travel mystery/conspiracy thingy with Abigail Spencer and goran visnjic and Matt lanter, think it would now be described as a "cult hit" when it got cancelled the fans clamoured for a conclusion and we got it in the form of a Christmas special

If you've not already seen suits is quite fun in an American soap type way

ER and the west wing are still available on all4

I've also only recently discovered the hit list which I binge watched and caught up on, I'm old enough to remember name that tune! So I've enjoyed being pretty good at getting all the non recent ones, anything past 2010 though no chance Grin

pollywollydoodler · 07/10/2021 05:21

I'm rewatching Father Ted, not having seen it for years, it is so bloody funny.
Before that was IT Crowd and Red Dwarf.
Grace and Frankie was an easy watch

Angelina1972 · 07/10/2021 05:32

I’m really enjoying Parks and Recreation.

daisyducky · 07/10/2021 05:40

Virgin river
Derry girls
Selling sunset
Emily in Paris
My unorthodox life
Dirty John Betty
Bridgerton

I started Good Girls a few weeks ago

Not Netflix but Married at first sight UK

Pinkychilla · 07/10/2021 05:41

Emily in Paris on Netflix is really fun, such easy watching lovely music and shows off Paris I loved it

Sweetener12 · 07/10/2021 05:41

Sex and The City. I'm dreading to see the reboot though, I don't think it'll pun out fine...

justthecat · 07/10/2021 05:48

Good girls on Netflix

CliffsofMohair · 07/10/2021 06:53

When Calls the Heart. American turn of century but with excellent teeth drama. Heartwarming and mindless at the same time. Several seasons got me through hyperemesis.

It features Lori Loughlin before she was convicted of college scamming.

flowerycurtain · 07/10/2021 07:02

Try Shtisel on Netflix. I'm just coming to the end and I'm bereft. It's like I've been travelling to Jerusalem to see friends every evening for the past two weeks. Easily one of my top ten programmes ever.

BiscuitLover09876 · 07/10/2021 07:10

I found sweet magnolias of a similar Gilmore girls vibe. Small town but in the sunny South.

Sarcobaleno · 07/10/2021 07:22

This Is Us on Amazon sounds up your street.

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Total trash but quite addictive.

Selling Sunset on Netflix.

LagneyandCasey · 07/10/2021 07:41

@Notonthestairs

Hallmark should be starting up the super cheesy formulaic Christmas films soon - umpteen tales of grumpy, stressed city woman who invariably inherit a farm/hotel in the country, visits to sell it and instead learns how to celebrate Christmas and falls in love with handsome farmer/vet/handyman.

V relaxing Grin

SUCH a guilty pleasure even though they're all pretty much the same! They're already on Movies24 Wink
Aspiringmatriarch · 07/10/2021 07:45

Firefly Lane
When Calls the Heart
Superstore
Death in Paradise

Mybalconyiscracking · 07/10/2021 07:47

I am desperately ashamed to say that I enjoy a bit of “My 600lb Life” Blush

Seeline · 07/10/2021 07:49

Virgin River
Offspring

Both on Netflix

Notonthestairs · 07/10/2021 07:52

Movies24 you say Lagney? That's me sorted until New Year Grin

Silkieschickens · 07/10/2021 08:00

I have DiscoveryPlus and love 90 day fiance and also the buying property in beach locations like Hawaii

Silkieschickens · 07/10/2021 08:02

Also enjoyed Below Deck, travelling the world on luxury yachts and working on them.

I love those too....

All the houses are beautifully decorated, all the roads and pavements are pristine with clean, fresh snow 24/7.

midsomermurderess · 08/10/2021 15:54

I think if you like something, go for it, why the shame. I happily watch stuff like Brokenwood Mysteries, Death in Paradise, easy, cozy viewing.
