What toys really absorb your 3 to 4 year olds

I want to buy a gift for a 3-4 year old boy. I’d like it to be something he can play with independently as the family are going through a tough time and need him to be occupied.

What are your recommendations?

Kinetic sand construction box
Duplo
AquaPlay lock box
Toy garage and car mat

Magnet blocks. Plastic 2d shapes with magnets in so they can make structures.

Playdoh or kinetic sand
Magformers
My 4yo loves playmobil but that probably depends on the age and interests of you child as it can be fiddly

I find that if i set something up the night before to play with, she will discover it and play far longer than if I suggest and get it out during the day.
