Heated blanket question

Hi, I've just bought a heated blanket following a thread on here.
I'm really disappointed, even on it's highest setting it's barely warm, you have to really hold it tight to feel any noticeable heat.
Have I got a dud or is this the way they are?

You might have a dud, I’ve got the Dreamland one and it’s really warm just draped across me. My cat fights me for it…

VeryLongBeeeeep · 06/10/2021 11:23

It must be a dud, I'm a cold-blood and I can't have my blanket on much above setting 3 (the settings go up to 9) or it's too hot!

Blahdyblahbla · 06/10/2021 11:31

@TeaStory thats the one I've got.
@VeryLongBeeeeep mine is on 6 (the highest) and it's about as warm as body temp, I'm taking it back!

Is it furry? We’ve got furry and fleece and the fleece once isn’t as warm.

Blahdyblahbla · 06/10/2021 12:24

@Fluffycloudland77 it's described as "velvet" but yes it's a fleece of sorts.
Have you got the Dreamland one also?

sounds like a dud! my ones can get super toasty!

Fluffycloudland77 · 06/10/2021 12:34

Yes dreamland faux fur.

ojojojoja · 06/10/2021 12:46

i've got a dreamland one a velvety finish and it heats up fine.

Gilead · 06/10/2021 12:48

I have dreamland velvet, it’s fine.

Burtknowsbest · 06/10/2021 15:27

I have just had one delivered today, only a cheapie , a schallen but I had to turn it up to the highest setting initially to feel the warmth, now it seems to be maintaining heat at a lower setting.

Brogues · 06/10/2021 16:08

I love warmth but I have to turn my no-make furry electric blanket off after a short while of it being on max.

SylvanasWindrunner · 06/10/2021 16:13

I read a review that said it takes ages to heat the first couple of times and then it heats normally. Maybe try it a couple more times first?
