It's my birthday

And I feel crap 😔 I've had depression for nearly six months now. I'm a little better than a few weeks ago at least. I couldn't think of anything I wanted to do today and it's miserable weather. I don't have many friends and I'm not close to my family.

Just feeling sorry for myself I suppose 😕

Can you get yourself something nice for lunch, with maybe a cake for later? Treat yourself to a bunch of flowers!
I hope you can brighten up your day a little, perhaps you have you got a favourite film you can watch this afternoon?

Happy Birthday! Hoping your day gets better! 🎂 🍰 🍹

Happy Birthday!
Great news that you're a little better than a few weeks ago. Small steps and all that. You're moving in the right direction.
Any of your friends able to call around for cake later? Can you bake? Or treat yourself and pop to a local shop to pick one up?
I'd probably have a bit of a pamper day if I was alone. Long bath, face pack and a book then choose a film to watch later tonight with my favourite food.

Happy Birthday! I’m glad you’re starting to feel a bit better.

I would order something delicious and watch a good movie/tv show.

If you’re able to go out then go and buy yourself a treat, something like a bunch of flowers or some super soft socks. But if not then stay home and order yourself them instead. It doesn’t have to be anything big.

Thank you all. I should say, I do have my partner and my daughter. I know there will be presents and cake later. I have a lot to be glad of. I just wish I could feel it. I haven't enjoyed anything for months and months. I don't have much appetite. I can't concentrate on books or TV... I would sleep all the time if I could but I know it's not a good idea.

Happy birthday! Can you do some nice things like having a bath- candles and bubbles, go for lunch somewhere nice?
Get nails done?
Whatever it is that you like doing.

Happy birthday.

Keep it simple; comfy PJ's, favourite TV show/book/podcast, short walk later for some fresh air if weather's okay, maybe a takeaway later and a glass of wine/slice of cake. Sometimes the pressure to 'do' something can lead to feeling worse.

The best thing ever would be to feel better. Not even loads better - a bit would be nice.

Thank you everyone. You're very kind.

Happy Birthday! Sorry you are feeling this way. I agree with PP to not put pressure on this day.
You are moving in the right direction. Next year you can do something extra special and you will feel so proud of yourself for how far you have come. Keep going. And go easy on yourself Flowers

BrilliantBulb · 06/10/2021 10:10

It will come @Notgettingbetter You’ll feel well again and there are lots of very happy birthdays coming to you in your future. I know it’s frustrating but all you can do is take it a day at a time.

Thank you everyone. It's been okay I suppose... Done a bit of colouring and ate sweets. Partner and daughter are going to collect some pizza. Looking forward to going to bed.
