Failed Medical termination

Hi,

I had a medical termination at 8 weeks (a month ago). I had a follow up as requested at 4 weeks…my HCG levels were still high, lowering only slightly. I found out yesterday that not only am I still pregnant (12 weeks) but there is a heartbeat. I’m struggling with this. Has anyone being through a similar situation?

Yes, I then had a physical termination (not sure on medical terms) that was all arranged by them.
Are you thinking of changing your mind?

I was told that there was no going back at that point, which didn't really matter to me anyway as I'd already made the decision to terminate and come to terms with it.

Firstly a handhold and Flowers. This is incredibly hard and happened to someone i worked with (she terminated)

Not sure if it helps or hinders... but mine had a heartbeat at 6 weeks so if thats the criteria so to speak you are in pretty much the same boat as 8 weeks.

I am a huge advoate of a womans right to choose.
For me if i had huge regets (like totally floored amd was thinking this was the biggest mistake of my life) about my choice at 8 weeks i'd consider progressing. However, if nothing had materially changed and i knew i couldnt provide adequately (financially/emotionally/whatever) which lead to initial decision i would progress as planned as terminate. I am naturally fairly decisive and evaluate situations and decide on actions quite quickly (appreciate not everyone is like this)

ultimately only you can make the right choice for your situation -Its very hard though

That must be a head fuck. If you're unsure of what you want to do next, (or even if you are tbh) I'd get straight back to whoever did the follow up and ask for counselling urgently, and if they don't do it, to tell you who does because this is a huge shock.. Good luck.
