Pain with copper coil - hoping for reassurance!

Hello, I am hoping for some reassurance about the symptoms I am experiencing.
I had a copper coil put in nearly 3 weeks ago. The procedure was ok, not as bad as I thought it would be. I had a period a few days later which went on a week or so and then nothing, no pain, no awareness of the coil even being there. Last week (so about 15 days after the coil was put in) I started to feel like I might have cystitis - passing urine often, feeling like I needed to go all the time. Drank lots of fluids and this seemed to settle but then over the weekend I started to get pelvic pain and some clear vaginal discharge. Tried treatment for thrush, no better. Pelvic pain worse today. I feel really bloated and quite uncomfortable and generally a bit unwell. The pain is going down my legs. I spoke to a GP who was lovely, has given me antibiotics and I'm going in for swabs/doing a urine sample etc. I've done a pregnancy test which is negative.
Has any one else experienced this with the copper coil? I'm really hoping it will just settle down. Could it be a reaction to the coil rather than an infection? I've never had a pelvic infection before. This is my last option for contraception as I really struggle with all the hormonal options so am massively hoping it's going to suit me! My husband won't have a vasectomy btw!
I've grateful for anyone's experiences! Thank you x
