Has anyone here experienced a sore scalp? Any idea what it could be?
In my work I am required to care for an autistic child. She can become violent. She went through a bad patch last winter with the school closures and out of routine. Last winter she started pulling my hair. It was sore pulls right from the scalp.
There's a point in my scalp where she pulled vigorously last winter. It was so sore. That point has been on and off tender since last January. I was combing my hair this morning and it caused me pain again. The tenderness is on and off. When I am going about my day, there's no pain. The pain and tenderness occurs when I comb my hair or sometimes even washing my hair, so there I think it occurs with some type of pressures.
The behaviour has been managed now and it's not too bad. I wear buns in my hair and a bandana and she is jot interested in pulling because there's little to grasp onto. It is managed for now but I am always wary of her if she doesn't get her own way.
Just wondering what is the pain on my scalp/head? It's on and off since last winter. Should I be going to a hairdresser or doctor or dermatologist?
