Amefa cutlery?

Does anyone have any experience with Amefa cutlery at all... the 18/10 (10% nickel content) stainless as opposed to the regular stainless? Any comments on quality? Our current set is 18/10 Viners and has been excellent, but I've not heard of Amefa...

We have pizza/steak knives and forks from Amefa 18-10 stainless and are fine. Wouldn’t like to guess how old they are but maybe a decade, possibly longer. I’d buy again if I needed to.

Thank you @Brogues
That’s really helpful to know.

The ones I’m looking at I’ve now noticed have hollow handles. A mega W ebsite says they’re dishwasher proof, but sounds a bit suspect.

*Amefa’s website, not “A mega W ebsite”!

Ours have definitely been through the dishwasher. I’ve no idea if our handles are hollow or not - they don’t feel hollow.

Thank you @Brogues - that’s good to know.

I should probably invest in a brand that I know will stand the test of time. It’s just that I’ve been on a bit of a spending spree recently and everything certainly adds up!

We have some children’s cutlery made by Amefa. It’s been perfectly fine, we’ve probably had it about 5 years and it gets used/dishwashered daily.

Thank you @IamJuliaJohnson ! I think it may be originally a Dutch brand and what's sold in the UK tends to be 18/0 (there seems to be a lot of this on the Asda website) rather than 18/10... it's really hard to find any reviews of the 18/10. That's good to know that yours has held up.

I bought mine in Home Sense/TK Maxx so I doubt it’s terribly good quality!

I've got the Amefa cutlery with coloured acrylic handles. Nearly 4 years old and still looks like new (I can say this with confidence as I bought a second set recently!).

It's hand washed though as I don't have a dishwasher.

Just checked and it is the 18/0 type.
