Constant nightmares

Hi, I'm just wondering if anyone has dealt with similar, and how they made it stop.

For the last month or so I have had a recurring dream that my partner has left me. Sometimes different themes, sometimes we're different ages, but the basis is always that they have dumped me with little warning. I'm waking up every morning feeling upset and as if I have not slept at all, which is starting to affect my work.

I don't understand why this is happening. I'm not a co-dependent person, I'm not jealous, I don't have any distrust in DP. I have no idea why these are happening but I want them to stop! Does anyone have any experience with making invasive dreams go away? Thanks.

Usually we remember our dreams when we aren't sleeping very deeply. I usually have this type of thing in the morning between my first alarm and actually getting up.

I'd maybe look into deep sleep techniques (haven't got a clue about how this works, I can sleep on a washing line).

The issue seems to be that you're not falling into deep sleep, that's what you need to fix.

@Eeiliethya Thank you, that makes a lot of sense. I'll look into deep sleep techniques and hopefully it'll be useful!

I have a technique I use when I am having recuring dreams. I pick a subject, say, sharks. I watch 3 films in a row with sharks in. I read online about sharks. Documentaries too. By the time I go to bed my head is filled with sharks. I then dream of sharks.
Pick a topic and flood your mind with it. Clocks? Planets?

I have bad dreams when I'm too hot. Perhaps you're running a temperature or maybe stick your feet out the end of the covers or keep your arms out.
