Cauliflower Mash-how to make it smooth?

Bitchbadgerplease · 04/10/2021 22:18

I find myself using a lot of Cauli Mash nowadays (low carber but also I just like it) but I CANNOT manage to make it lump free. I use a stick blender and spend a lot of time with it, but there's always those annoying little hard bits. Any tips?

TIA :)

Make sure you cook it long enough. To blend I use a meat grinder 🤣

Grin perhaps I should invest in a meat grinder (I haven't eaten meat for nearly thirty years) if it works!

Could you put it through a potato ricer, that gets the lumps out of potatoes so should work on cauliflower?

Bleah!

I do mine in a blender, and needs to be pretty mushy to begin with. Also need to add enough liquid (cream / butter / milk - whatever you're adding) to get it moving in the blender.

Ricer is a good idea! balcony surprisingly I find it very palatable and I HATE cauliflower generally!
I don't add any liquid apart from oil or marg as I dont like it sloppy. Perhaps I could try a bit....

If you don’t add water then that’s why it won’t blend smoothly.
