How to improve my life?

Right I need your advice.

I'm stuck in a rut right now. Fallen out with some of the in laws and I'm feeling it. My family are in another country and I feel a bit lonely.
I haven't made friends really where I live (well a few but nobody super close.) due to massive confidence issues (which im working on but there's still a few months to go until I'm happy - not plastic surgery or Botox but I did join my DCs PTA this year so that's something but yet to have any meetings!Grin)
Im disabled so I can't work (poor DH is my carer and does a lot for me. Most days I can't walk) and I have my DC but I feel like something is missing.
Anyone got any tips to improve my life? I feel a bit lonely just me and my DH. I'm willing to try anything apart from joining a gym not very disabled friendly. 😂

Why can't you work? Is wfh , computer based work possible? Are there friendship groups online in your home country? Can you learn a language, musical instrument, start a neighbourhood book club? Have you spoken to your GP, would social prescribing help, which a lot of GP practices are engaging with? Could you do with an image change, hair, make up, re-style. Could you do some studying? Could you be a community mentor?

What academic or professional qualifications do you have? (I mean, is there room for more or better?) Because if you can manage MN and the PTA you could easily manage some form of study or training (online if not in person) that would expand your horizons in a myriad of ways.

Have a look on the Mature Study and Retraining board - under education. You may well find something that inspires. And information on funding possibilities.

Could you take up a hobby or do something creative? Perhaps start up a hobby business. I've just started making cakes professionally. I do most of my work sat down. There are plenty of YouTube videos to teach yourself all sorts of things? What do you enjoy? Could you do some voluntary phone work? My friend is a psychologist and recommends making small changes and tweaking your life rather than trying to overhaul it. Usually small adjustments are all that are required. Could you go into your child's school and listen to readers one afternoon a week? I'm starting doing that this afternoon. All you need is a couple of things scheduled a week to make a big difference.
