2 job offers, to go with head or heart?

Recently started a new job in a field iv always wanted to be in. Literally my dream job and I absolutely love it. The pay is notoriously dreadful but there are some minor progression routes. Prior to taking this job I applied for another job in a totally different sector never thinking I would actually get it (but I did) Much better money, almost double the salary, much better progression BUT I don't want it and feel sick at the thought of leaving my lovely job. In my position what would you do?

If you can manage on the salary I'd 100% stay with dream job. Money isn't everything and sounds like you love it! xx

I've been there, made the wrong decision and I was miserable and regretted it immensely.

As above if you can afford stick with what you love, I wish I could find a job I love.

Double is a lot….

What does the uplift in salary give you? 5* in the Maldives rather than ibiza? Follow your heart. But if it's the difference between being able to put the heating on, or wearing a second jumper, you need to follow your head. Only you can decide where the cross over point is, because reality is probably between 2 extremes!

Thanks all. I think I knew the answer and you have all confirmed it. @Redtartanshoes it sounds a lot but the salary from the job I currently have is just so pitiful that its not mega bucks really.

@PeonyTime we have two incomes and my dream job is the first time I have worked full time since my DC were born so maybe more Blackpool than ibiza for a while but absolutely can afford heating, bills, shopping etc on my wage.

I'm so money orientated that I would have to take the double pay... if you don't, hats off to you...

You can't miss what you have never had is the way I am looking at it. Its such a hard decision.

Id take the double the money job because it is more than what money you have now, pension and saving is also important.

Stay in your dream job.
