Please help me with my bloody dishwasher issues

Boring I know

I'm fed up with my dishwasher not doing it's one bloody job. Glasses regularly come out with bits in them, sometimes it decides it won't clean things properly or things come out with smears on.

Here's what I've tried ...

It's a relatively new dishwasher. The old one did it too. Both leading brands - this current one is Bosch

Salt and rinsing aid present and correct

I rinse things before putting them in. Sometimes I don't rinse things (hurt is out on this) .. makes no difference

I use leading dishwasher tablets but I've tried them all from finish to fairy and cheap ones too

All filters are cleaned regularly - this includes the rotating arms

I use a variety of wash temperatures - no difference

I run it through a cleaning cycle once a month using a special cleaner

So .... for the love of God ... what am I missing here?

Lose the rinse aid!

Stacking it properly?

PippaOwl · 04/10/2021 16:50

@TamponSupport why is that? I have tried not putting it in as I know my tab contains it but it made no difference

@Purplewithred hmmmm. You could be into something there as I'm prone to a spot of overloading but I think it's the same when I load lightly.

I'll make a concerted effort this evening to stack properly and not overfill

  1. Look in the manual for the dosing controls. Set them according to the water hardness in your area.
  1. Wash on a high temp and a full cycle.

Had to stop washing on the high temp as wondered if it was bloody baking stuff on? So switched to eco. I'll go back to hot as prefer that

Op we have a josh and I hate it, only seems to work when drowning on rinse aid

Happened to me recently, I googled it and followed a you tube video on cleaning the pump. Worked a treat, there was a tiny bit of lego stuck inside. It's been cleaning normally since I cleaned it. You tube is marvellous.

Rinsing items actually makes it harder for the dishwasher to do its job properly. You should only scrape.

dementedpixie · 04/10/2021 17:25

Load it so the water can get to all the surfaces. Check there's no dishes or cutlery stopping the arm from spinning. Sometimes plates are too tall (we have to buy smaller dinner plates to fit ours). Scrape, don't rinse
