Dorset, Somerset or somewhere else?

I live in Warwickshire and I'm looking to move to somewhere by the sea. I need to be able to travel back to where I am now on a regular basis (family stuff) so I'm looking for somewhere within about a 3-hour drive from where I currently live, which is roughly Dorset, Somerset, and maybe South Wales ( though this is my least favourite option) or anywhere that fits the 3 hour distance. It would be great to hear about any recommendations. I look on rightmove regularly but would love some insight into these areas

I love Somerset! Wiltshire is also very beautiful

I love Somerset too (it's where I was born and brought up) but if I wanted to live on the coast I'd go for Dorset as I prefer the south coast to the Bristol Channel. However, obviously the further south you are obviously the longer it will take you to get back to Warwickshire.

If you don't need to be on the coast itself, but just reasonably close, Crewkerne is nice. It's not far off the A303 and also has a train station, which is quite rare in Somerset!

Somerset coast is not great for swimming - too sludgy. I’m in south Somerset and love it - we do occasionally visit berrow beach for the sand dunes but spend much more time in Dorset - charmouth, lyme Regis and Weymouth. While I love the Dorset coast, we are living in a non tourist town which has great access to Bristol, Bath and Exeter so job wise there are options, although currently both have local jobs after commutes to Exeter behind caravans on the A303.
