Heated throw: to buy or not to buy

I’m one of those people who is almost always cold, I’ve often thought about buying a heated throw but I think it might make me worse. I can already picture myself crawling out of the throw to get a drink/go to the loo and feeling even colder than I would if I didn’t have it

Any thoughts or opinions much appreciated

Do it! My dh presented me with one this week, I’m loving it! He got one called cosihome, he spent hours checking reviews.

I have just bought a Netagon Schallen for £35 from Amazon and I’m so pleased with it.

I've started my own thread as well, but I'm also semi hijacking this one Blush how hot are your throws actually getting?

I bought the Dreamland velvet one, took it back as I thought it was a dud, had it replaced and am still beyond disappointed. It warms to approx body temp, no more, I had an image of it warming like electric blankets used on beds, and becoming really quite toasty. It seems no more effective than a normal blanket.

Are my expectations too high?

@TiddleTaddleTat Thanks, I'll keep my eye out!

Blahdyblahbla I had to take mine off me last night as I actually got too hot with it over me. I’ve noticed that mine kind of builds in intensity. Initially it doesnt feel particularly warm but after 15 minutes it really starts to warm up.

Although it’s still fairly mild down in the SE at the moment, I am really hopeful that come the real cold weather it will stop me having to put the heating on.

2Two This one, www.lakeland.co.uk/25246/Dreamland-Alaskan-Husky-Faux-Fur-Heated-Throw saves us a fortune on heating bills and is just divine!

Did anyone buy the wearable one from Lakeland? I've just ordered it with a discount code and am waiting for it to arrive. It was quite expensive so I hope it'll be worth it.

Heated jackets and gilets are marvellous. Buy a spare battery so one can charge while you use the other. Batteries last for hours and the heated gilet/jacket means the heat travels with you inside and outside the house. Heated throws are awesome, so are battery operated heated clothes.

Life changing. Mine is machine washable.
I think they use less electricity than heat in up water for a hot water bottle and it’s constant. Use on the sofa and throw another blanket over the top and it’s heaven.

GinIronic · 13/11/2021 11:08

Can you plug them into an extension cable?

JohnKettleyIsAWeatherman · 13/11/2021 12:39

I have two CosiHomes and wouldn't be without them in the winter. I get a lot of aches and pains, and as well as keeping me warm I find they help with the pain too.

WickedWitchOfTheTrent · 13/11/2021 12:40

I bought one to use in my office and it travels around the house with me.. I absolutely love it!
