Hi all quick question how cold in your house does it have to be before you put heating on. I have been up since 7am kids have gone school and I have not been doing alot partly because I am cold. My house always seems colder in side then out and its sunny out now.
When or what temperature would you put the heating on I am trying not to use the heating so much because of the prices but I am constantly frezzing.

Any advice

Sal

16 degrees. You shouldn't have to be cold, I'm sorry.

Its better to properly warm the house and then put the heating on for short periods throughout the day to keep it warm.

If you just having a freezing house to start with and are trying to warm the whole thing its never going to touch it.

Mine is on a thermostat and timer so if its a time it's on and its below about 18/19⁰C then my heating will kick in. I will boost it if I'm cold and haven't warmed up with a cardigan

My boiler does a timer but between can't put it on. It's in a bedroom cupboard and isn't easy to get to so I just use the thermostat to turn on and off. I have stitch it on. I have a eurovent machine in the attic because of mold in the house and since that was put in its like having the windows open All the time up stairs. It's supposed to have a heater attached to it and if the temperature in the attic drops below 10 it's supposed to blow warmer air. But it's still a constant draft off it. Might be warmer sitting in garden today.

Thanks
Sal

18 degrees in my house. I feel the cold. We have cold spots (most of upstairs gets very chilly) so I keep bedroom doors shut during the day to stop heat loss into those rooms
