I have been taking fluoxitene for a few years but my anxiety has got worse so i spoke yo the gp today. She wants me to change to venlaflaxene from today.

I looked it up looking for peoples experiences on it and ut came up that you should not take it with ivabradine or if you have fast heart rate.

I take ivabradine and have had SVT needing a and treatment twice this year - i am waiting for cardiologist appointments for fast heart rate.

The gp knew i was on ivabradine as i asked about taking it.

Does anyone know if this is a major problem?
I dont really feel confident enough to call back straight away and question this Sad

I cant decided if im being stupid or if this is a real concern. I already a pile of stress and anxiety so im finding it hard to get some perspective here.

Speak to pharmacist?

WaltzingToWalsingham · 04/10/2021 10:41

I personally don't know if it's safe to take these two together, but it's good that you are checking. The best thing to do is go to your local chemist and ask to speak to the pharmacist (not the pharmacy assistant). Pharmacists are experts when it comes to medications - in fact, they usually know much more than GPs. They usually have a private room available for consultations, if you don't want to discuss this in front of other shoppers.

Just call back- some interactions aren’t important, some are, you can have a discussion about it.

You should be questioning and doing your own research! It’s your body and what you put in it is of great importance!

Far too many people blindly accept what they are told these days so please don’t put yourself down.

I question everything.

Pharmacists are the experts on this. I’d start there. Good luck. :)

Makinganewthinghappen · 04/10/2021 12:42

Ok i have been to the pharmacy and they said that it could be a bad idea so i am now waiting for the gp to call back .

This is not helping my anxiety about changing medications Blush
