Need help with job applications/hunting!

I have found myself unemployed just 10 days ago. I had to move house and today is the first day that I'm actually applying for jobs. I really don't know where to start... Career change? Try to go for a job with a better pay? Look for flexibility above it all? I know we need my income (I was the main breadwinner) but usually once I'm in a job I barely have time for job hunting.

If you have been out of the finding g a new job market fir a while, I'd suggest your first step is to make sure your CV is up to date.

Then, start applying for jobs fir which you are the obvious candidate, to get some interview experience. In parallel, sign up for some agencies who might have a fast track to jobs which are not specifically advertised.

Rattle your network, ask everyone already working in the field now for some time to talk to you. Don't ask for a job, but to understand how they see the current situation and where it is going. Also ask for other contact.

You might get lucky and find someone who is looking for your skills and experience.

Alongside all this, think out of the box about what else you could do. It's much easier to move once you are in a job.

Consider this your full time job. Put in the hours and it will all come tight. Good luck.
