WWYD? Covid related

We all (5 of us) had tests yesterday because DD1 has a cough.

Plot twist: DS is positive. The rest of us negative. So he's off school until middle of next week.

I've got a good shop click and collect booked later this morning - I'll have to take him with me in the car (he's 6, can't stay home alone).

Would you go? It's too late to cancel or change to delivery, and there's noone who can go for me, and there are some things we've run out of.

He won't be leaving the car, but I feel weird about it - he shouldn't be leaving the house. WWYD?

Take him and make sure he doesn’t leave the car. Mask if he will.

parrotonmyshoulder · 04/10/2021 07:17

I mean if he will wear one.

EekThreek · 04/10/2021 07:35

Yes, good idea. He's got one, I'll find it out!

He will be fine in the car.

Can you contact the supermarket and see if they can swap your shopping to a delivery slot? I'm not sure how accommodating they are all being now

Mariell · 04/10/2021 07:58

Is he actually unwell?

Take him and carry on with your life as YOU see fit.

HermioneWeasley · 04/10/2021 08:01

What’s the supermarkets’s process for click and collect? If you leave the car and collect your shopping it’s probably ok. If they ask you to open your boot and it’s a hatchback, they are getting a face full of infected air.

Justbecauseofit · 04/10/2021 09:30

Yeah he will be fine. It's a common sense situation I think if he's not going in any shop he's not causing any harm!

EekThreek · 04/10/2021 18:47

He's not unwell in the slightest. Bit bunged up, but no fever, cough or any loss of energy (lucky me).

It was, as predicted, completely fine.

The bloke wheeled over our boxes of shopping off the van, went and stood back by the van. Pretty standard. I kept my mask on just in case, even though outdoors. What a non event. You know what it's like though, faced with an unexpected combination of events you lose perspective.
