9 weeks out and still get stabby pains in that area after I eat.

Is this normal?

I had mine out in July, so 2 and a bit months ago. No pain or issues whatsoever after the first week or two.

I had mine out in May, have had no problems since.

I’d go back to your doc. Sometimes a stone can be left in the bile duct and cause gallbladder like symptoms. It happened to my SIL and she was in agony with it.

Doc was in Turkey so can't.

It's not excruciating pain. Just an sharp feeling after certain foods.

Bit concerning no one else feels it

I had mine removed in 2014 and still occasionally get pain! It’s nowhere near the pain I had when I had my gallstones but it’s still uncomfortable. I was told that there is a small “stump” of tissue left after removal that can sometimes get inflamed and cause discomfort in a really small percentage of people

Also did you have to take meds after the op?

Go to your GP.

I was just given pain meds for a couple of days.

Is it when you eat high fat food. It can take a while for your body to adjust.

I had painkillers for 2 weeks after (multiple surgery in one) I've been given creon for 6 months but I'm not great at taking it.

I'll try keeping on top of it for a few weeks and see if it improves.

I’d go back to your doc. I had one further incident of pain when mine was out and was told by my gp that sometimes you’re left with a bit of sludge in a duct that clears out itself. He said if the pain continued I should return to him in case there was an actual stone in the duct. I didn’t have any further issues, luckily, but you should get yours checked.
