Ive got a Samsung A52. The stupid thing is water resistant but will give a pop up and refuse to charge if it thinks theres moisture in the charging port. No pop up last night and i couldn't be arsed to go get my charger and let it run flat, intending to charge it when i went to bed. But no the fecking thing has now decided it wont charge because the port has moisture in it. And its dead as a Dodo so i cant get it back on. Does it support wireless charging? No. Did i do something even more stupid and not back up the last 6months of photos? Yes i flipping did. Samsung wont repair it without factory reseting it, even with the option of an engineer doing it at the house. So i have to go 3rd party, which they suggested. Ive got it in rice and silicone gel, ive cleaned the port, ive tried another charger. Im so mad at myself for not backing it up. Can anyone think of anyone else before i book it in tomorrow 🤦🏼‍♀️

I dropped mine in the toilet and didn't realise till the next morning lol. It took 48 hrs till it would let me charge it but it did and is totally fine. I would just wait a bit longer. All my stuff was still on the phone. No permanent damage

Im hanging on with everything crossed but ive a feeling the port is faulty. Could of just had it replaced under warranty IF i had had the sense to back the thing up. I keep plugging it in thinking 'this is the one....itll charge this time' just to be met with the bastard flashing screen instead

I used to work for Samsung, if you can find a walk in repair shop (hard as they closed most of them) you can request that they do not erase your data, if you send it away they have to for data protection.
It's a hardware fault with the sensor so that is what needs replacing.
I would try hearing the charging port with a hairdryer then try charging it, rice will do nothing at all to help the situation.
Also if you get a 3rd party repair it will invalidate any warranty you may have as Samsung give you a 2 year warranty.

Stick it in a bag of rice for 24 hours. That should extract any moisture from the phone.

They gave me the choice of paying for an engineer to come to the house but said it would still have to be factory reset even though i would be right there! I am leaning towards a faulty port, as although its been raining its been in my pocket etc and not got wet. The phone itself shouldnt be damaged as to my understanding, the port is sealed and it stops the charging to prevent anything getting fryed

There is a samsung repair shop in the city centre! Will they be able to replace the charging port on site?
