One nipple larger than the other. Should I get it checked out?

A few months ago I noticed that one of my nipples was around double the size of the other - it’s just the actual nipple itself, the areola is the same size on both. I thought I’d just leave it and see what happens, but it’s not returned to normal size. No pain or discharge, sometimes the larger one feels slightly irritated but think that’s probably due to friction as it protrudes quite a bit.

I’m 43, in good health, definitely not pregnant, haven’t breastfed in years so nothing to do with milk production.

Would you go to your GP in these circumstances? Seems a bit OTT, and it’ll be difficult for me to get an appointment as I work full-time, but then there’s a niggle at the back of my mind that it constitutes a breast change and therefore should be checked??

Definitely. Any breast changes/abnormalities need to be checked out. Hope it goes ok x

The most successful campaign ever ran was "no one ever dies of embarrassment"

Best check and be safe

It's an odd change, isn't it? I'm glad you're going to get it checked.
