Is this the twilight zone?

I do not live in the UK but very occasionally tune in to UK TV. This evening I saw blankety blank on BBC 1 an The zone (I think) on ITV. Both with Bradley Wiggins presenting. Surely prime time TV has not fallen this low. The prize on blankety blank was a set of casserole dishes. This has to be the twilight zone.

I can't comment because I haven't seen it, but Blankety Blank ran for years because it was funny. Even forty years ago Terry Wigan took the piss out of how poor the prizes were. If it's not your cup of tea, don't watch it. Now quite why the Beeb keeps commissioning yet another series of Death in Paradise I cannot fathom as that is utter drivel. Or Mrs Brown's Boys. I do not know one person who watches that shite.

Death in paradise is weird because it kind of worked the first series when the joke was on the bumbling English man not coping in the heat and culture and Ralph little has brought that back a bit but the show now is a bit uncomfortable as it seems more like 'fly the white man in to tell these natives how to do things' which is just odd.

I like Death in Paradise. It's nice escapism, I can dream of being in a lovely warm place with sunshine, pineapples and a relaxed pace of life.
