Lunch in London

Hello! Posting in chat for traffic. I'm looking for a fun idea for a lunch in central London on a Sunday.

Not fancy or fine dining, ideally not too expensive but it's a birthday so can splash a bit.

Looking for something a bit different be that a quirky venue / unique experience / a temporary pop-up / an iconic location / a special view / unusual menu etc.

Location would need to allow us to get to the Fenchurch street area for 3pm where we have an activity booking. Our starting point is South Kensington.

There's just 2 of us and it's a few weeks away so we have time to make reservations.

Thanks in advance x

Archipelago has a very adventurous menu.
Inamo has an interactive menu which is beamed onto your table. You can also browse a map of the restaurant, see a live cam of the kitchen, play retro games and graffiti the table!
Rabot 1795 is owned by Hotel Chocolat and has chocolate in everything. Literally everything.
Sushisamba (Heron Tower) is quite convenient for Fenchurch Street. Has an amazing view and a very adventurous menu. Not really very child friendly though.
Duck and Waffle has a great view and something on the menu for everyone even though it’s quite quirky.

Sky garden ?

ImInStealthMode · 02/10/2021 17:23

Ooh thank you.

We're already going for a visit to Sky Garden and I'd looked at the menus there with a view to dinner but wasn't inspired by either!

I'll look into the other suggestions, thank you. Friends had breakfast in an igloo at Coppa today and that looked great but sadly they're booked up for our date Sad

Brasserie Zedel has a lovely Art Deco dining hall and a cocktail and cabaret bar next door. Check out the toilets!

Oh that looks lovely @Turmerictolly! Reminds me of Rogano's in Glasgow that a colleague took me to a few years ago. It's on the list!

The Thali feast at Tandoor Chop House is a bit different

Any one of the big mama group restaurants? affordable, very instagrammable, and good food

Sketch is always a favourite but a bit more expensive

14 Hills looks cool and has great views but didn't rate the food (like sky garden)

At weekends, the minimum spend per igloo at Coppa is £130. And igloos are much more magical after dark.
Have a look at 14 Hills which would be super handy for you, and also Circolo Popolare.
