Help, sertraline withdrawal or something else?

So I take sertraline for ptsd and I ran out 3 days ago(my own fault I didn’t realise I was low) I contacted my gp and receptionist said they wouldn’t be ready to collect until Monday. I went for an early dinner tonight with friends (no drinking) and then took my kids to swimming lessons (where I just watch) but when I was driving home about an hour and a half ago I started to take a funny turn, feeling really dizzy and like I was drunk and not a little drunk but like I had had a lot to drink (I hadn’t drank a drop obviously and only had a lemonade and waters to drink) I got out the car and started to stumble about, I thought I was going to pass out so had to phone my partner to come get me because I was scared to drive. Since I have felt really dizzy, my pupils are really dilated, I feel like I have pins and needles all over my body and my mum did my blood pressure which is high too, plus I feel like I am really drunk. I’ve came to bed but I’m thinking is this withdrawals? Or could it be something else? I’m 28, 5ft 2 and 7 stone and I would consider myself in usual ok health apart from kidney infections here and there. Any help would be appreciated

It does sound like withdrawals, do you know anyone who is on the same dose than could lend you some to get you through the weekend?

Or if you go to the pharmacy in the morning they may give you three until Monday? Mine has done that before.

Can you call 111 and get an emergency prescription?

SunnyDayOut · 01/10/2021 21:50

I have stopped taking Setraline before and never in a month of Sundays had anything like that. I think you need to speak to a doctor, to be honest.

I ran out of sertraline and by day 3 of not having them this was exactly how I felt. Along with a blinding headache, almost like a migraine

It was very scary and all symptoms disappeared within a few hours of taking my normal dose

I tried the pharmacy but because I am classed as slightly under weight I only take 25 mg because with 50mg I couldn’t even keep my eyes open they won’t give me them because they only stock 50 mg tablets and I said I could half them but they said no. I don’t know anyone else who takes them and I haven’t really told anyone that I take them. I’m actually feeling really scared because I really don’t feel right but don’t want to waste NHS time by calling 111 if it’s nothing serious. Thank you everyone for your reply’s so far x

That’s what 111 is there for. You are not wasting their time. If you don’t feel right, then phone for advice.

This is exactly what 111 is for, don't be hesitant to use it. You'll need to know for sure and the only way you can do that without seeing a doctor is by taking the meds. An emergency prescription will have it done days earlier.
