Say there was an app that everyone could download for free. You are then stopped by a lone police officer. POs have all been trained on allowing (and promoting!) people to verify the situation is legitimate.
A lone person could then open their app and the PO would be able to give them that days passcode. Enter the passcode. Then enter the POs badge number. Automatic checking then, to display whether that PO is on duty, is in plain clothes, the reg number of the car they are in etc.
If on opening the app, the PO refuses to give the password or badge number, a button could be pressed which would locate you and, for instance, give a callback to your phone within 5 minutes.
When we get taxis via apps, we are sent car reg, name, badge number and photo of the driver. Same for food delivery vehicles.
Surely its time something else is implemented for other industries?
I accept we could call 999 or 101, but this clogs lines.
