Anyone have bad cold, sinusitis?

Anyone have one of these monstrous colds going about? I'm 30 weeks pregnant, a teacher and mother of a three year old at nursery and have had constant colds which has turned into painful sinus infection. Been off work for three days but already feeling guilty/ as if they might not believe me. Dunno whether to back Monday. In my subject I can't really socially distance though school have never carried out a risk assessment. Technically I could probably be off now or at least out of the classroom. I'm over 35 which I think also puts me in the higher risk category.

Yes I have the worst cold I have ever had. Also a teacher. Feel absolutely dreadful. Hope you feel better soon x

I've been off work with it which is unusual for me. Have actually slept for two days.

Not a teacher and wishing everyone well.

Me too! I'm on day 5 at the moment and have never felt so bad with a cold, I was so awful in the night I felt like crying (I'm never usually that dramatic when I'm ill)

Dd started 2 weeks ago with a cold and I started with it this week, horrific sinusitis, headaches and generally feeling crap. LFT all negative but I am asthmatic so it's triggered that badly so I am coughing a bit more than normal so am being treated like I have the plague!

Plan to hunker down this weekend and hibernate til Monday with plenty of Earl Grey and chocolate digestives.

Oh my god I was utterly shocked that my pcr test came back negative for Covid. I feel so rough! I slept all day the last two days while my son was at school which isn't like me at all!
Not sure if we just aren't used to having colds with them being so rare in the past year or two or if it's an actual monster cold but it's done me in! On day 4 of it abs really hoping it buggers off soon

TerrifiedandWorried · 01/10/2021 20:18

Sinus pain was my only covid symptom.

inigomontoyahwillcox · 01/10/2021 20:23

Yep, DD gave it to me, she was grotty but I was in bed for 2 days with a temperature (all PCR'd - negative). First day I've felt anywhere near human since Monday. Splitting head/earache, the usual blocked nose and generally achy all over. Eugh.

DidgeDoolittle · 01/10/2021 20:25

I'm the only one in my family of five adults that hasn't had the cold of doom. It is a daily competition to see who is worst (all of them men) and who is nearer death's door. To be fair, they all look really rough.

FVFrog · 01/10/2021 20:29

Me too! I seem to have caught it on the back of Covid. Horrible sinus pressure and headache, stuffed nose and I still have no smell and metallic taste in my mouth as lingering Covid symptoms. I am bloody miserable and fed up of being ill. I haven’t been able to taste anything properly for over two weeks now!

Xyzzzzz · 01/10/2021 20:31

Earlier in my pregnancy I had sinusitis. It was terrible, constant sinus pain and headache. I feel you - it’s horrible worst pain I’ve ever had (bar contractions)

LickYouLikeACrispPacket · 01/10/2021 20:32

I’ve got it now and I feel rough! My daughter had it for a good ten days and has kindly passed it on. I had a PCR today but expect it to be negative as I’m sure it’s exactly what she had and she was covid -ve. I don’t think it’s helped I had my flu jab and covid booster on Wednesday just before I got this cold. Get well soon all!

Sandles12 · 01/10/2021 20:47

Yeah the middle of the night is the worst when totally blocked up and the headache, toothache is the worst. I was actually sick from being unable to unblock my nose. Maybe a few more days off work would do
no harm, already suffered for two weeks in work when prob should have been off!

Yeah, I had a night of throwing up too. Nasty chesty cough too.
BlackeyedSusan · 01/10/2021 22:52

Yep. All negative for COVID but a sweaty chilly snotty mess

BlackeyedSusan · 01/10/2021 22:54

And getting autistic sensory overload due to dd's huffing, sniffing and coughing.
