Edinburgh in December

We were hoping to go to a Christmas market in Germany or Poland with the kids (7-13) but flights just don’t suit (from Ireland).

Now looking at Edinburgh - is the Christmas market there any good? I know it won’t be the same as the traditional German ones but is worth going to?

Also looking at the Harry Potter trail.

What else would you suggest? Ive only been to Edinburgh once years ago.

It’s the same 4 or 5 stalls of mass produced crap repeated until the space runs out with a few insanely overpriced food/ drink stalls. And hideously busy

It’s exactly the same stuff as everywhere else. There’s usually a fairground too. Which is fine.
