Something odd happened last night.
I turned my light off to go to sleep early (9.30pm), I was alone as my 3 year old was fast asleep in the next room and my husband & cat were downstairs in the living room with the door shut (we don't let the cat upstairs at night).
I fell asleep, then a while later began to feel movement on the bed, sleepily I thought it was my husband coming to bed but then it started to feel more like the cat walking around the bed. I reached out behind me (I was lying on my side) to see if I could feel him but there was no cat there. By this point I'm awake and confused.
I think I must be imagining things so try to go back to sleep but then feel weight against my back like someone leaning on me or a cat settling down against my back - I reach out again & nothing there still! My cat constantly purrs but I heard nothing.
At this point I got freaked out & jumped out of bed, went into the hallway and just stood there figuring out what to do. I checked in on my son, fast asleep! Went back in my room and turned the light on, nothing. It was 10.20pm by this point, if this matters.
If the cat had been upstairs he'd have ran out (plus he has to jump over the stairgate & I can hear him land). It definitely wasn't my husband (he came up 20 mins later, confused as to why my light was still on).
I'm thinking it was a type of sleep paralysis maybe (although I could move freely, wasn't pinned to the bed) but I've never had it before.
Opinions please?

I've had similar. Tbh I think it's something paranormal- although most who will post will disagree.
Once laid in my dd's bottom bunk whilst she was sleeping out and I felt a body lay next to me and cuddle me. I was facing the wall and was completely awake.
I don't think it was sleep paralysis as I didn't feel in the slightest bit sleepy and hadn't been asleep.

@Noshowwithoutpunch Yeah paranormal had crossed my mind but I've lived in this house over a year and nothings happened. No one (/cat) has passed away recently.
I dunno, just feel maybe there is a logical explanation. Smile

I've had the 'settling against back' feeling a couple of times. Concluded it was a lumpy duvet 💁🏻‍♀️

It definitely wasn't the duvet! Grin

That state of consciousness between sleep and wake can make you feel like a dream is real. Just your dream seeping into real life. Nothing to worry about.
