Universal credit proof of childcare

Hi

Ive just been moved onto UC due to a job and salary change. What a bloody nightmare.

I pay childcare at my DCs primary school of £90 a week and this is invoiced and paid via parent pay. UC asked for proof of this so i sent a letter headed, signed agreement from the school stating which days i send them, their costs and the ofstead number and then screenshots of print outs from parent pay detailing the daily costs, total and then a screenshot to say it was paid.

They arent happy with that and wont accept it as proof. They want a paper signed, stamped invoice with the word 'paid' on it.
Is this everyone elses experience?
I work full time and havent got time to go into school, hence why they are in club and i cant imagine any teacher will have the time to provide me with a stamped, signed invoice when its already digitised on parent pay!!

Any ideas? Getting quite cross and dont know what to do.

Plus, they say not to ring them about it and to use the bloody journal instead.

Some areas want to see your bank statement as proof and claim receipts arnt enough

You might have to ask the school to provide paper copies

Oh. My. God
I understand completely why they are doing it but its so time consuming for all involved.

Ok, i will take the print outs to school and ask the club manager to sign them then and stick the ofstead number on them. See if they accept that

The school are very likely used to requests like that as you’ll not be the only parent on UC. Give them a ring and ask them what works best for them.

This is crazy. What is the point of the public sector having a modernising agenda if they then want paper copies of things! Not only is this wasting your time but its also wasting the DWP and teachers time. Sorry i know this doesnt help you.......
