OK - I'm laying myself bare, but does anyone do any of the following weird things or is it just me?!?!

1. When I'm cooking, I sometimes pretend I'm on a cooking show, and I'll give dialogue as I'm going along...
2. When I'm eating, I sometimes pretend i'm in a food advert - so if I've got pancakes, fruit and syrup (for example), I eat a piece indivdually, then a big mouthful altogether. I sometimes pull a "mmmmm" face...
3. When I'm walking or cycling to work listening to music, I visualise myself on a stage...

There. I've done it. It's off my chest and now it's typed out, I feel like I might need help!!!!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE someone tell me your odd things?!!??

And no, I don't live alone, but I've managed to keep it all secret for years!!

I have my own version of 'batshit' though, I talk to everything!

There are a LOT of MNers who do what you do though, there are lots & lots of threads in the same vein.

At work in my head I have pretended I'm the subject of a fly-on-the-wall documentary. Until I remember there is nothing interesting or potentially entertaining about my job. It's hardly "Airline".

I don't do the cooking and eating things...but...

When I listen to music and often when I'm walking the dog, I visualise my music video to this song. I'm never on stage...no,no, but I am ALWAYS in a music video. I sometimes pretend those around me are part of it and backing dancers

If I'm very brave I will often mime enthusiastically as I'm walking alone picturing the press blowing up at this hot newcomers new music video 😂

I do talk to everything car, washing machine, random bugs & bees, traffic and parking fairies

I love these threads though, there was a big one last year or the year before and it made me smile and laugh at imaginative MNers are.

SO exciting that I'm not alone! Yes, I did see one a couple of years ago on this but I wasn't brave enough to post and I didn't want to resurrect an old thread. Plus I've just had a big birthday so I thought "sod it"!

No, not lonely - quite the opposite - I think it's my "me and fantasy" time!!

I do the music video thing where o imagine music videos with me in them if I'm listening to music.

Also sometimes if something a little bit more than mundane is happening at work I'll pretend I'm in a film. I'll imagine background music and all sorts with it

I do the cooking show dialogue too, especially if I'm cooking something special or a 3 course. I like to channel Nigella or Nigel Slater when I do.

I also play my own entrance music in my head when I enter a cafe/pub etc. This actually stems from being a kid when every time I visited my grandmother I'd walk in the door singing my favourite song at the time. Thank god I only do it in my head now, just writing that makes me think I must've been such a precocious kid 😂

I don’t do it whilst cooking but I did go through a stage of doing it whilst doing my make up as if I was doing a YouTube tutorial.

I also stage scenarios in my head whilst walking and then sometimes realise I’m pulling the appropriate faces to whats happening and must look very strange!

Not this exact ones, but similar. Usually I'm being interviewed or narrating what I'm doing.

The standard iPhone ones) I do a little dance in my head to it. I've got different dances for different ringtones.

I don't do that, but I often imagine that a person I know is watching me or listening to my conversations and interactions and I tailor my actions and conversations to send them a particular impression of me. It just happens spontaneously. I probably haven't explained it very well, but I know what I mean

I hate that it's called that as it makes it sound like a bad thing and I don't think it is (I'm not an expert obviously).

Sometimes. My favourite one is pretending I'm a spy tailing someone when I'm behind them on a path or on town. I run an internal dialogue describing then to 'HQ'.

I do it whilst doing my skincare and make-up - I think I watch too many YT videos

When I’m cleaning I can often hear Kim and Aggie from How Clean is Your House commentating on my cleaning technique, and tutting if I’m taking short cuts 😁
