Reasonable ball park for tree removal / pruning

£550 for pruning of 7 mature trees, removal of two, cutting back ivy and removal of all trimmings etc. Never had it done before so not sure if that reasonable? Any comparisons appreciated. Thanks.

We always use the same people, one man & his assistant.
Last month they just did the front garden, trimmed two large conifers that guard the gate & trimmed two longish hedges. Cleared & removed all branches & clippings, slays leave it very tidy. £50.
They have pruned some of the very large trees that grow on our land & removed two vastly overgrown conifers. Few years ago but nowhere near as expensive as your quote. But we live in the far north so don’t know if that makes a difference

Always, not slays, typing slip.

I think that's reasonable. I paid £250 to remove 2 trees, grind down the roots and prune one other. 5 years ago.

I'm in the North too. It seems like a fair bit of work to me so not necessarily outrageous, just so weary of dodgy tradespeople.

Sounds about right to me - but would depend on the size and possibly how long since last pruning.
I had significant pruning done this year and was over £1000 but we’ve been here 10 years and done little except trim hedges.

We recently had 5 trees trimmed, about 15ft off each and some pruning of what was left and disposal of all the waste, it was £400. I think it sounds a decent price.

TheUnbearable · 29/09/2021 15:12

I think that sounds fine. My mate had work done by someone that had knocked on her door. It cost a thousand for pruning 2 apple trees and removing bushes. She is far too polite.

Thanks. Ive been here 5 years and not done anything so seems fair. They are definitely unruly!
