How much, roughly, are well known band, arena size tour, gig tickets these days? Or does it vary hugely?
How much have you paid recently?

It varies massively , as an example when Taylor Swift toured last her cheapest tickets were about the same price as Ed Sheerans most expensive ticket for the same arena .

BunTooti · 29/09/2021 13:19

Oh poo. Thought maybe it was just based on venue size.

Cheaper end is £30-50, mid about £60-100 and up to £200 for big names like the Stones, cheaper end will often not play large arenas, it depends on the artist though not the venue for price, cheapest is often standing or seated at the back

Wabola · 29/09/2021 13:27

Who did you want to see

mewkins · 29/09/2021 13:31

I'd expect 50- 80 depending on who I was seeing. I'd want standing if possible and these tend to go first. O2 priority is good for getting tickets a day or so earlier.

BunTooti · 29/09/2021 13:36

Was hoping to get Tool tickets as a gift but literally not a clue how much they might be, was hoping no more than £100ish each but didn't know if I was way off.

Up and coming bands in smaller venues anything from £15-30

For instance, son saw Dave play a couple of years ago and the tickets were £12.50 - now he's playing arena tours tickets are upwards of £45.

I usually pay between £45-60 for the bands I enjoy, although they don't tend to play huge venues. Last time I bought tickets for a 'big' band gig held in a stadium it was approx. £95

ISpyCobraKai · 29/09/2021 13:43

You'll get decent tickets for £100 each.

I pay £60-£150 depending on seats for boy band type stuff because I'm naff Grin

YodaiamsaidI · 29/09/2021 13:46

Paid £174 for 2 Ed Sheeran standing tickets this week.

YodaiamsaidI · 29/09/2021 13:47

2019 Pink was £96 each standing.

BunTooti · 29/09/2021 13:49

Excellent thanks. Doesn't look like I'm being completely unrealistic. Fingers crossed I can get hold of a couple!

The presale is on now. Tickets start at £50 and the most expensive are around £100.

RestingPandaFace · 29/09/2021 14:00

I would have guessed about £60 @BunTootido you know someone who can get them through O2 priority as they seem to be on presale.

BunTooti · 29/09/2021 14:01

@CorrBlimeyGG Thanks!

I think I've got to wait for general sale on Friday.

OP posts:
RevolutionRadio · 29/09/2021 14:26

I've tried to post a picture of the presale prices that I found online but I can't post for some reason. It says from £51 at Birmingham and from £53 at London. That may not include the fees.

BunTooti · 29/09/2021 14:34

Thank you Smile

mewkins · 29/09/2021 14:44

That sounds doable then! It's so good to be able to see live music again. Hope you get the tickets and enjoy x

BunTooti · 29/09/2021 16:03

Gah does any one know if you have to show ID to go to an arena gig? Passport well and truly expired.

OP posts:
MegBusset · 29/09/2021 16:09

Probably depends on the venue. I'm going to see Nick Cave on Saturday (squee!) and the ticket does say photo ID required, how strictly they'll police this remains to be seen!

AndSoFinally · 29/09/2021 18:11

An expired passport should still be ok for ID purposes, it's just no good for leaving the country! 😆

ALongHardWinter · 29/09/2021 18:37

Depends who it is you want to see! The more famous/more popular they are,the more expensive. My DD paid £115 for a Coldplay ticket 4 years ago,and that was one of the cheapest tickets!

ISpyCobraKai · 30/09/2021 01:47

Christ alive, that's expensive.
I have a Harry Styles ticket, it was £75 for mid back seats.
Even Dd didn't didn't pay that much for Slipknot.
