My father passed away just need some advice.....

Hi my father passed away recently and i just need some advice, he had a good life he lived to 94

1. Finding his old dormant bank accounts
2. Changing council tax
3. Changing Tv licence, he had an over 75

First off, I'm sending condolences. I remember doing all this when my parents died. It was all a bit of a whirlwind. When did your Dad pass away? Once you register the death, there is a Tell Us Once service which is great for informing pensions etc about his death.

Re: dormant bank accounts etc. Is there anything written in his Will about these (assuming he has a Will)? My Dad left - alongside his Will - a list with info about his accounts, shares etc etc for us to find, along with a letter containing his wishes for funeral arrangements/who to donate his clothing/shoes to etc, and a PDF he'd put together with the order of service for his funeral (my Dad was always ridiculously organised, but it sure helped us!).

As far as I can remember, we just informed Council re: Council Tax.

TicTac80, Yes he was quite organised and he had his will in order and he passed away in hospital, sorry i am being lazy i can google all this i just feel mentally exhausted as it was only 2 weeks ago

You’re not being lazy at all! Is there a “bereavement” booklet that the hospital gave you? I’m only asking because where I work (hospital), we give relatives a bereavement booklet which outlines some really useful stuff like this x

The link above will help you to locate any lost or dormant bank accounts. I used it earlier this year when my Dad passed. I'm sorry for your loss, it can be overwhelming. I've only finally sorted the probate application this week and my Dad passed away in April, we've not even touch his house yet, I can't face it.
