I look like a mess, can’t find any style or clothes. Has anyone had a personal shopper at John Lewis? I was thinking of they just have the clothes on the shop floor it’s not going to work.

I had a session to look for an outfit for a fancy wedding. They do only have access to stock, but know it well and will be able to look at you with a fresh eye & may make unexpected picks. Give it a go- I had fun.

I do it every now and again for fun, just to make sure I try on stuff I wouldn't otherwise and freshen up my look. I always walk away with stuff. A good-sized JL stocks a lot of brands so there's a wide choice.

Thanks everyone!

There is a larger lady who works in Leeds… tempted to see her as she looks stunning in her outfits.

I did it a few years ago, thought it was excellent.

As others said, they bring you things that you may not have thought of trying on. No pressure to buy any of it of course.

I've done it when I needed to change my style, and found it really useful. I came away with some really nice items I wouldn't have tried otherwise, and have been better at choosing by myself since. Nothing to lose OP: it's a free service and no obligation to buy.

My mum did it and it was a very disappointing experience. They didn’t get her at all and didn’t listen. Reached their own conclusions about what an older lady should wear and gave her totally unsuitable stuff.
