Do you think this fuel business will have sorted itself out by the weekend?

I have enough fuel to get through this week so I haven't got involved in the queuing and general feeling of panic.

On Sunday I was quite relaxed thinking it would all blow over by midweek but it's still gridlock round all petrol stations here.

I have something really important (to me) to go to at the weekend which involves a 100 mile round trip. I can't go unless I get fuel between now and then. If it's going to be a project involving a long wait and/or trying several times and places I need to do it tomorrow as I won't have time the rest of the week.

But surely by Friday eve/Saturday morning it will be back to normal?

Op I really really hope so.
Every single little drop that gets put in is gone immediately.

Hope so. Near me all petrol stations got a delivery late last night/early hours. By mid morning all gone. But surely people must see the supplies are coming through?

It's fine here (central Scotland). I was at two petrol stations today (for shopping, I didnt buy petrol). No queues at either. Just seemed normal.
Hopefully everywhere else will chill out soon too.
