Late husband's Lost investment

Hello everyone, bit of a tricky one. My husband died suddenly and traumatically a few years ago leaving me and my kids in dire financial straits. I've managed to get things on to a relatively even keel and take a deep breath! He was a crypto 'investor' and I know he had put money in various coins (I really don't understand it) Anyway, my question is, does anyone have any experience of whether it's worth me trying to track the money down. He didn't leave me the passwords but I do have his phone, laptops etc. It's such an unregulated, weird area and tbh I haven't had time to give it much thought. I've looked into it but just wondering if anyone had any trustworthy start points? Thanks!

How do you know though? For your own peace of mind, you will need hard evidence that he invested in Crypto, to make it worth your while recovering it. You may not be able to crack those passwords easily and will need help. There are lots of fintech experts out there who will want money to assist, so you do need to ensure this is not a wild goose chase.

Thanks for your message. I know he had invested heavily, made a lot and also sort of lost the plot around the same time so presumably lost a lot...so I completely agree and this is my dilemma. The last thing I need is a wild goose chase! I know how complex the tech is and that it's an unregulated area in many ways so I suppose what I'd really like is someone who knows what they're talking about giving me some straight advice. I've had so many financial headaches to deal with and I'm quite sanguine about the fact that it could be impossible. It's just a few people close to me have asked whether I'm going to do anything about it and it's made me wonder whether I'm being remiss by leaving it all up in the air!!

There are people who bought a few Bitcoin etc when they first started but have lost the details of their wallets - they have not been able to get access to the cryptocurrency and they are the owners. I think it would be incredibly difficult unless the passwords etc are saved somewhere in your DH's laptop.

Hi, I know a lot about crypto and would be more than happy to try to help you as much as I can to try to unpick things. What kinds of things to look for amongst his things etc.
