A boring Tuesday thread about what iron to buy.

I need one because whilst I don't iron many things I definitely can't sleep with un-ironed duvet covers and pillow cases. Hence my current iron has lasted about 15 years give or take.

But the shot of steam has died, it doesn't give out a lovely satisfying hiss of steam any more even when I descale it and so - I'm on the market for a replacement .

I definitely have no time for those massive contraptions with the big steam chamber things which need a room of their own.

I just want a light weight, good steam iron. What have you got that you'd recommend and how much was it?

Mind you don't get knocked over in the crush to fill this thread up Grin

No particular brand, but I'd highly recommend one with a ceramic sole plate. Nothing sticks to it.

I have a steam generator iron (Tefal pro) which is great for lots of ironing.

Also have a Philips Azur iron for when I just need to iron something quickly - highly recommend it. Think it was about £45 on offer on Amazon.

Make sure it's got a long enough flex. I bought a perfectly good Philips iron but the flex is shorter than my last Philips iron. And it's really annoying.
