DD(15) wants a part-time job - what type of jobs does your teenager do if they want to earn themselves more pocket money? Looking for inspiration for her.

I would always recommend washing up in a cafe/restaurant/hotel/pub. I did it at that age and I loved it. Such a laugh and team spirit in a kitchen. Pick up valuable life skills - working with different ages, communication, following rules, orders etc.

Mine works in a chip shop two evenings a week.

My DD 14 works in the local pub in the kitchen 2 4 hour shifts a week. Washing up etc and then waitressing in a bit as she gets more experience. She’s getting about £40 week.

DD works in a cafe. Lots of them looking for more staff now as kids have gone off to uni. She could go down the high street with her CV and I've also noticed a lot advertise on the local Facebook page, she could try contacting them on there.

Mine worked as a primary school cleaner, along with a number of her friends.

Dd1 first job at 15 was collecting plates and washing up in a restaurant.

Good on your dd!

Amazing ideas , thanks everyone. She’s even written her first CV to hand to potential jobs. She’s going to blitz our local market to try the fruit and veg stalls and other stalls. some other great ideas here too.

Some good ideas, it gets much easier once they get to June of year 11, national school leaving age. Round here its mostly paper rounds or the fish and chip shops.

She could also offer babysitting (for older dc) or pet sitting for people you know.
