Looking to move house, what's Old Coulsdon like?

Looking at moving to the area but want to know if there are any areas to avoid?
My DD will go to school in the next year or so and want to know what schools are good in the area? If any?

Following this thread to see what others think - I'm a few years off moving but Old Coulsdon is on the shortlist for when it comes to it. We're currently in between South Croydon & Purley Oaks. Love the house but we're just off Brighton Road so it's a little noisy at times. Old Coulsdon seems like it could be a good option.
