If there's no fuel shortage where you live - where do you live?

Been in Carlisle over the weekend. No fuel shortage. Filled up easily to go home yesterday, only car at Asda doing so!

The internet is still on its way by horse and cart up there - they haven’t had the ‘panic’ message yet 🤣

TeenMinusTests · 27/09/2021 13:33

Not telling you - you'll only come & buy our fuel!

Northwest no problems here

CheesusWept · 27/09/2021 15:34

I've noticed no issues in Glasgow.

Stroller15 · 27/09/2021 15:39

Central Belt Scotland, no issues.

Ylvamoon · 27/09/2021 15:56

😁 I am in one of the deprived towns with high unemployment and low car usage. We don't really need the secret fuel stash at our petrol stations. But we have them anyway. I'm sure if you venture here you'll be mugged or worse, so please stay away with your fancy cars running on empty!

Problems near me in north Manchester but boyfriend said all is ok 15 miles up the road where he is in Rossendale.

Gizmo98765 · 27/09/2021 16:51

Hey up. All ok up north and quiet a few have been panic buying by all accounts 👍

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 27/09/2021 17:45

I haven’t looked but I think we are ok in NI.

PlonkyWillyWonky · 27/09/2021 17:50

None near me
People are nipping over to France to get some apparently

qualitygirl · 27/09/2021 17:52

Ireland 🇮🇪🤣

I wonder what the factors are?

  • panic-ability of population?
  • how essential car use is, or can they say “sod that queue I’ll get the bus” ?
  • petrol stations per head? My previous town of 100,000 had 5 petrol stations that I can think of, which I always thought wasn’t many.
  • a small number of petrol stations in an area with a real shortage, which whips up demand and therefore panic?
Chemenger · 27/09/2021 17:55

Edinburgh, totally normal, drove straight up to a pump on Saturday morning, no queue.

BashfulClam · 27/09/2021 17:57

Ok just outside Glasgow.
