I've lived in an area for around 8 years, moved for dh's job. He's on a fixed term role (same job as we moved for) that will DEFINITELY end in 2025.
We moved from the area I grew up in and it's around 150 miles away from where we are now. We visit relatives regularly. We've decided that we would now like to relocate back there and dh has been applying for roles but with no luck so far. He earns significantly more than me and as a teacher/childminder, I can work anywhere.
Most recent rejection came this morning. I all of a sudden feel so homesick to move back. We are desperate to and the move feels further away that ever. I know that in 2025 we can go when he is made redundant, but we'd both prefer to be able to relocate long before that. We live in an expensive area of the country and although we need to upsize, it would be very costly to move in our area just for a few years.
Feeling a bit lost and fed up at the moment. Has anyone been there and any tips to focus on the here and now? This is the first time in 8 years that I'm truly longing to move home.
