Grainy poo and soiling

Hi all
My son (6) has had a few loose poos today and when you wipe its all grainy like dark sand. He's also done four farts where he's pooed in his pants a bit.

Any ideas why? He's had a lot of sugar over the last two days, both from fruit and from sweets and ice cream 🙈 I know I need to keep an eye on the amount of that he has but it's been a special weekend. Today he's also had a fruit smoothie, apple juice and another drink with apple in. It could be that... he says no tummy ache and he's still as hungry and happy as normal.

Thanks all

Any change in what he’s eating will see a change in poo. Keep an eye on it, maybe keep him off school in case he has an accident. Maybe try giving bland drinks and plenty of plain water or diluted squash.

Grainy usually means a lot of fibre, in my case anyhow.

It does sound like he's having a lot of fruit! That would go straight through. This morning he's already had a fruit smoothie and two other fruit drinks, I think that's a lot to have by 8:15am

Cut back on the fruit juices and smoothies, think how much fruit is in a smoothie turn he has a juice as well. Just ditch the smoothies all together, they're not good for you or your teeth.

Thanks for the advice all. The juice and smoothie were yesterday, over the course of the day, not packed into the morning... But absolutely you are all right it's waaaaay to much of that stuff for one little body to process so it's no wonder x
