If you're a regular swimmer, what shampoo and conditioner do you use?

I swim four times a week, started over the summer and my hair, which is crap at the best of times is starting to suffer. I can't wear a cap as it makes me claustrophobic so I need to find better shampoo etc. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Following as I want to know the same thing!

Best thing to do is wet your hair before swimming. Your hair soaks up the water and prevents your hair soaking up a lot of chlorine water in the pool.
I use a clarifying shampoo after to get rid of the chemicals. I would recommend using a conditioner straight after.

I use milkshake intensive conditioner straight onto my dry hair before I get into the pool.

Please wear a cap if you do this. It's horrible being the person swimming behind you having to taste all the stuff you put in your hair that is washing out into the pool. Also applies to people who swim in perfume Envy (not ennvy)

I swim twice a week and I don’t use a cap. I don’t wash my hair at the swimming baths as I find the shower water stinks of chlorine, so I wash it at home.

I use John Freida’s moisturising shampoo and conditioner. Once a week (not swim days) I do an intensive condition, John Frieda’s miraculous recovery.

I don’t have any problems with my hair or scalp. I get it trimmed every six weeks and my hairdresser says my hair is in good condition.

Decathlon anti chlorine shampoo. And whatever conditioner I feel like. I do wear a cap, and if you don't like traditional ones, a pace or lap cap might suit you as they aren't as tight. The swim secure bubble hats are super stretchy and don't pull at all and might be worth a try

As a PP said, shower before getting in the pool to saturate your hair with water before getting in the pool.

And definitely if you apply conditioner before swimming wear a cap in the pool.

I use Aussie shampoo and conditioner and my hair is OK.

Aveda anti-chlorine shampoo, and shea moisture intensive hydration conditioner. I have very dry curly hair though.

I only wash my hair about once a month so... doesn't matter.

I have very dry hair. DD insists she has very greasy hair so she washes it daily or near enough. Her hair feels like wiry straw to me! YMMV.

I go straight to work after so shower at the pool or not at all, which wouldn't be popular! I already feel like I leave the beautiful scent of chlorine in my wake around the office Grin

I'll look at all the suggestions including the caps, thanks. My hair is very fine and like straw at the best of times and I'm sure it's worse now.
