What are you jealous of? (Lighthearted)

I've just spent 4 hours + mowing my lawns and one of them is on an incline. As I hadn't done it for 6 weeks or so it was long and it's taken me ages to get it short today. I know it's my own fault btw

Anyway, while I was red faced, sweaty and pushing my mower through the long grass on sodding said incline, neighbour comes and mows his well manicured garden on his ride on mower. I am v v v jealous! I want a ride on mower!! Can't afford

What are you jealous of?

People who's kids have grandparents that love taking them to theirs for the weekend and actively want to spend time with them doing lovely things!

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 26/09/2021 19:40

Our big car that costs £20k+ is via Motability and, believe me, I'd happily have a £4k car if it meant our son didn't have all his disabilities.

I'm envious of people who have a creative talent (even crochet!). I attempt lots of things, but don't have an innate talent at anything creative.

AmberLynn1536 · 26/09/2021 19:41

Kate Middleton’s hair

Emmacb82 · 26/09/2021 19:49

People with a full tank of petrol 🤣

toolazytothinkofausername · 26/09/2021 19:52

Hair!!! I went from shoulder length hair to a super short pixie cut in March and I am still growing it out Sad
Come Spring it'll be back to chin length Smile

JennetHumfrye · 26/09/2021 19:57

People that work part-time. I envy what I assume their work/home balance is.

I work full-time and am out of the house from 7am to 7pm. I feel I miss out on so much as my four year old is just winding down for bed when I get in. Plus I still have to find time to do housework, trying to have a social life and general life admin.

RiverSkater · 26/09/2021 20:27

People who believe in themselves. I'm working on it at the moment but it's hard.

ThankyouLinus · 26/09/2021 20:31

People who have babysitters/family to watch their DC occasionally. Desperate for a date with DH

CapitanSandy · 26/09/2021 21:10

People who don’t have to work evenings/ weekends.
People whose hair looks nice dried naturally😂

EcoCustard · 26/09/2021 21:14

Anyone who doesn’t seem to appear flushed, red faced or sweaty during a workout. I only have to start warming up and I go as red as a beetroot and sweat loads. As for women in the gym who can workout in a full face of make up and it stays immaculate, how ???????

grapewine · 26/09/2021 21:18

People who've never had insomnia

RosieLemonade · 26/09/2021 21:19

When I was pregnant with DD I had crippling, quite terrifying pre natal anxiety and was really jealous of people who needed extra scans ShockConfused

This is why I work out at home, so nobody sees my ridiculous lobster face Grin.

I'm jealous of lots of things -

Women who can wear heels and look effortlessly sophisticated, swishy hair, the lot.

Also people who can wear a leather jacket and look cool.

Also people who can play an instrument.

Also people who own their homes, I will likely be renting forever.

Also people who still have their grandparents alive as adults, and have a good relationship with them. Most of mine died before I was born. The one grandmother who was still alive took no interest in us, called me 'the little one' and my older sister 'the other one' Hmm.

U2HasTheEdge · 26/09/2021 21:34

People who fall asleep quickly.

DammedifIdo · 26/09/2021 21:39

People who have loads of energy and can somehow do it all.

Also people who fall asleep quickly

People who have flat stomachs even after pregnancies

SteveArnottsWaistcoat · 26/09/2021 21:41

Right now, anyone who can breathe through their actual nose.

unsure111 · 26/09/2021 21:41

People who can afford a gastric band and who can afford to go privately for sperm donation clinic.

OhWhyNot · 26/09/2021 21:45

Those than can get into the yoga zone

I try and try then not try as I might be trying too hard but never reach it and never enjoy doing yoga

I would have said a cleaner I think I can afford one now once a month I’m so happy

MrsHastingslikethebattle · 26/09/2021 22:22

Another one for being able to fall asleep straight away.

Lately it's also been people who dont have to constantly worry about money. People who have nice house and know hoe to decorate it.

midlifecrash · 26/09/2021 22:27

People who can smoke one or two fags a year and never start smoking properly

Gingernaut · 26/09/2021 22:31

People who can drive.

My driving lessons were like a slapstick farce - "No! No, Gingernaut! Your OTHER LEFT! Your OTHER LEFT!!"

Anyone who can knit, crochet or sew.

I'm dyslexic and have ADHD, I have no sense of direction, no ability to read patterns and I am very clumsy.

Tulips15 · 26/09/2021 22:34

-People who have enough motivation to exercise.
-People who seem to keep going up the ' property ladder'. (Lost my house in Divorce, doubt I will ever get a mortgage again)
-People who know how to dress well for themselves (I look like a sack of crap in everything)
-People who always have tidy houses(My house is reasonable but I seem to clean all the time and its still never immaculate!)
-People who don't procrasinate on MN (Like me right now, loads to do, stupidly picked up my phone!)

Chocolatier9 · 26/09/2021 22:36

@Mariell

I can crochet and sew to an expert level but I would love to be able to knit to the same standard.

I can knit but find it difficult to focus on whereas I can crochet in the dark it’s so easy!

As soon as I read this, I felt such a twinge of jealousy. I can’t crochet at all, nor can I sew as well i’d like. I can knit anything though! Knitting is easy! But I wanna sew and crochet well. Envy

Besides that - everyone around me seems to have an acre or more of garden. I’m jealous of that. Which is extremely stupid, since I couldn’t manage a bigger garden.

romdowa · 26/09/2021 22:37

People who've had their babies! The last few weeks really drag! I just want the baby to be here and not to have a bump any more 😅

romdowa · 26/09/2021 22:39

I've adhd and find YouTube tutorials so good for crochet. A lot of them do step by step in their videos which make it so much easier to follow then trying to decode a written pattern.
