DS has just had a poo explosion in his bed and it's over several soft toys and bedding.

If I use napisan could I put everything in on a 40? I'm sowrried about getting the animals germ free but not ruining them if I don't have to....

Is Napisan like the Dettol laundry cleanser? Or supermarket own brand Grin

GoBrookeYourself · 26/09/2021 14:36

I would rinse the worst bits off in a bath/sink and then yep napisan is fine on 30+ to kill germs. Hopefully nothing stains!

PlanDeRaccordement · 26/09/2021 14:37

Yes napisan will kill the germs.
But if any of the stuffed toys have glass eyes, I would recommend wiping them off with an antibacterial wipe first. Then put them in a pillow case or two closed with a rubber band or hair tie. Then put in washing machine. This is because most washing machines steel drums will chip and dull the glass eyes of stuffed toys.

Thanks. I've wiped the toys down with a cold napisan soak and it hasn't stained so I'll put it all on a 40.

This is the 4th time he has done this. He puts his hands in his nappy and puts poo everywhere. Im fed up of it.

How old is your Ds?
I ask because I am thinking maybe you could dress him in something to prevent him being able to access his nappy.
Or I suppose it might be a case of you having to set an alarm during the right to get up and check if he needs changing. I appreciate that's not an attractive idea given that you may only just be enjoying unbroken sleep again!
Could you maybe put the cot back in your room so if he wakes so do you?

DueyCheatemAndHow · 26/09/2021 15:06

He is 3

Yes it'll be fine. I'd give them a rinse in the bath/ shower first.

JoborPlay · 26/09/2021 15:10

Fwiw, I used cloth nappies, washed on 40, no napisan.

HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime · 26/09/2021 15:14

Can you put him in a onesie? Possibly a backwards onesie if he can undo the buttons. I'm sure there is some 'accessible' sleepwear aimed at older children who smear.

DueyCheatemAndHow · 26/09/2021 19:09

@HPandTheNeverEndingBedtime thats exactly what I've just done, thanks- M&S do babygros for older children.

Bleurgh.
