Anybody think that the new Flowflex LFT's are not as accurate as the old ones?

I had a faint line on one of the new nose only ones last week. Did another one of the old throat/nose ones which was negative but felt I should have PCR anyway because of the first positive. PCR was negative.

My sister has had three positive LFTs with these new tests in the last two weeks and three negative PCRs. The last two times she's done one of the 'old' style ones in conjunction with the new ones as she had a couple left and they were both negative. So between us, that's 4 positive new style tests, 3 negative old style tests and 4 negative PCR tests. It's not giving me much faith in the new tests and it seems that they are taking over from the old ones. 🤷

Hmm, interesting. DD tested positive (strong positive) on one of the new ones yesterday, we are waiting on a PCR result. She does have a headache, sore throat, and feeling a bit under the weather though, so who knows?

Neither of us had any symptoms, we do them because of our jobs. I think a strong line would probably not indicate a false positive but these were really faint. They say that no matter how faint, a PCR is needed but it's definitely made me wonder if they are more 'sensitive' to the control solution than the older style ones.

Well DDs was positive, I also did a Flow flex yesterday (before her symptoms started, I test for work as well) and it was negative, but I now have a sore throat, headache, and am feeling flushed although no temperature. I'll be interested to see if my PCR comes back positive or not given the negative LFT.

Ah I hope your DD doesn't feel too bad and hope your test comes back negative.

My son and I have used them. Strong lines by C and T and then positive PCRs.

DH and DS2 took them, no lines by the T. They took PCRs (after me and DS1 tested +ve) and they were negative too.

For us, they've been consistent so far, but am aware of another thread where a line I could barely see resulted in a positive PCR.
