Just that!
Starting at 7
Finishing at 12
She has gone round the closest neighbours to let them know
DH and I are in our room - hiding!

I'd find it hard not to have some wine and join in!

Katjolo · 25/09/2021 23:31

Great thread. What's happening now?

TawnyPippit · 25/09/2021 23:32

Am loving this thread! DD and her bestie are having a joint 18th next Saturday so I may be posting exactly the same. Ours is at a venue. Very, very few places round here will host 18ths (I wonder why????). The small print said we will be charged £100 for every vomit they have to clean up. Shock

This is the best, I am gutted I wasn't invited 😁

MumofSpud · 25/09/2021 23:37

McDonald's group have come back.
One girl (she was a bit staggery) left the house with 4 boys - 'for a walk' I stopped them.
To be fair the boys straight away agreed she should stay

CornishTiger · 25/09/2021 23:43

I wish my mum was like you when I was 16. Sadly I’d already left home by then.

I would have made £100Grin We did look at a few places but they said No to a 16th - understandingly- too messy and they wouldn't have been able to open the bar!

They are now playing with the balloons Grin

We earlier in the year had my daughters 18th… the floor was sticky, music taste varied (I knew some !!) worried i was going to upset neighbours who were all lovely & said it was nice to (finally) hear people having fun and laughs! The men who came to my door with deep voice all grown up from the little lads I remember!!
The only sick one was my daughter! Who never is usually! They did ‘try’ to tidy up
I was terrified but actually was a cracking night - but I remember the counting down the hours till it was home time!!

olidora63 · 25/09/2021 23:55

Am very late to this thread but can honestly say that you are a brilliant Mum ! I always welcomed my kids friends for a party 🎈 or just get together.I never judged any of them and enjoyed their company. Alcohol was fine but I always made sure there was food…lots of carbs! My children are now in their 20s and their friends still give me massive hugs when they see me …absolutely loved the late teenage years 💕😍

justasking111 · 25/09/2021 23:58

Found sons friend in the garden he offered me a joint 😂😂

DameMargaretofChalfont · 26/09/2021 00:06

OK - It's midnight.

Music off
Windows wide open
Lights on
Taxis rung

It's over!!!!

Well done OP - you survived!!

mrsmacmc · 26/09/2021 00:07

Have they all turned into pumpkins and on their way home? OP you sound like an amazing mum! 💜

AdaColeman · 26/09/2021 00:10

What a great thread, I’ve been following it all evening, it takes me right back to DS’s teenage years!

PrincessNutella · 26/09/2021 00:41

This is a wonderful time for a hand craft.

MumofSpud · 26/09/2021 00:58

Yup.
12:00- DH turned the music off and lights on and we went around with bin bags.
To be fair I thought they'd be an argument but there wasn't.
There were about 40 in the end.
Thanks for all your supportGrin

@NotMyCat

My dad found me at a neighbours party at 16, bottle of ouzo in one hand, fag in the other. It'll be fine Grin

What a lovely thread and what a fab Mum you are!

I don't know how you coped, I would hate the noise and mess, and that feeling of being responsible for their safety. I have two DDs and am dreading this. They are 14 and 12. Eeek!

I hope you have a lovely day today, you deserve it!
