Just that!
Starting at 7

She has gone round the closest neighbours to let them know
DH and I are in our room - hiding!

Dd's 21st party here this evening. We went from 5 to 9 and then they will head into town. At least we can do that with 21 year olds. Wouldn't work with 16 year olds.

They've been fed. Currently in the garden drinking (we put up a couple of marquees) and I'm counting down until 9.

Good luck.

My dad found me at a neighbours party at 16, bottle of ouzo in one hand, fag in the other. It'll be fine Grin

Op, I think its lovely that you are letting her have a party. My parents let me have a party when I was 16 on the day of our GCSE results. I'm 38 now but I still remember that night. Someone drank my dad's whisky, someone broke the cat bowl. Things got out of hand and my sister and her boyfriend threw us all out. I kissed 2 boys and got a thick lip after being accidentally punched. These are the evenys memories are made from! It was such a good night 😀

The things we drank - whatever we could get our hands on - holiday souvenir leftovers!

(can hear a party down the street and wondering if it is OPs)... I could go for an archers and lemonade...

MumofSpud · 25/09/2021 19:46

Apparently only 4 left to arrive - I am trying to see how many but I am on the other side of a closed door
3 MEN arrived - they are of course 15 but the last time I saw them they were teeny tiny!ShockGrin

How's it going? One of you make your appearance know regularly and make sure you know how they are all getting home!

BertNErnie · 25/09/2021 19:47

What do you and your OH have upstairs? I'd be ordering a takeaway!

I bet they will have a great time.

SleepQuest33 · 25/09/2021 19:51

Tell us more! Will there be dancing? Who’s in charge of music? Loved my teenage parties!!

MumofSpud · 25/09/2021 19:54

Music - v eclectic at the mo Gwen Stefani - they are all singing along
Had Kanye -Flashing Lights (DD knows I like that and said I could dance but I declined)
Now Shaggy!
I have said no songs with v v bad words - she knows I don't like that

MumofSpud · 25/09/2021 19:56

No takeaway for me- I am going to S/W
But am looking forward to the leftovers!

DD has just said she is v v happy as everyone is mixing - I won't say that this is because our downstairs/garden is tiny so no choice!

You sound so chilled!
I spend most of my time looking at my watch, praying to any deities I can think of, and petrified a neighbour/ the police will appear.

No - I appear chilled but I really am feeling sick and counting the minutes. Why do they all have to scream so much?

This thread has made me really smile, OP, you’re a fab parent!

megletthesecond · 25/09/2021 20:11

"Why do they all have to scream so much?"

Have you never walked past a school at lunchtime? You've fuelled it with some alcohol.

Police came to my 18th. I was soooooo cool for soooooo long.
Crunchymum · 25/09/2021 20:13

When you want them all to clear off, go down in your PJ's and try to get them all to do 'Ooops Upside your head'.... you can teach them the actions Grin

Ilikewinter · 25/09/2021 20:13

Ah you sound like fab parents!!

FizzyPink · 25/09/2021 20:14

I remember a party at a similar age where we thought the birthday boy was so cool as his parents had bought us a crate of German beer.
Everyone was getting suitably drunk until a German speaker arrived and declared it alcohol free 😂

FindingMeno · 25/09/2021 20:14

@MrsTerryPratchett GrinGrinGrin

But, shhhhh! @MumofSpud doesn't need to hear that Wink

It'll be fine and I hope they have a lovely time and tomorrow will be a restful day to recover Flowers

Ya you are right - I work in a school - maybe I am immune to day time screaming !
